FOX NEWS — The cocktail party meme, a Twitter account for a Saturday night event that involves drinking booze while talking about a celebrity, is getting the boot.
Fox News first reported that a user named @Cocktails2K was behind the hashtag, and that the user’s Twitter account was hacked.
A Twitter spokesperson told Fox News that the company is taking steps to prevent similar accounts from spreading.
The spokesperson said the company has removed all of the accounts and has suspended the account, which was created on May 5.
The account has since been deleted, according to a screenshot from the account’s Twitter page.
Fox News reached out to @Cocks2K for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
